Anarchist soccer

We had a big anarchist versus Socialist soccer game today near the community garden. I was taking photos rather than actively participating, it was my first time trying to photograph sporting events and I have a new respect for professional photographers, getting clear sharp action shots that arent cluttered or messy is bloody hard work. Anyway you can see some more of the photos I took here

I only have an 18 - 55 lense at the moment so I had to get right in amongst the game to get photos. Hopefully I will have money for lenses someday soon........

That looks like fun. It appears that it is not just anarchist v socialists, but shoes v skins as well...

Nice work. Looks like a great afternoon.

Sports is definitely hard - but then they tend to have massive lenses for long zooms with ultra-short exposures. Perhaps you need one of those? Better for action shots at demos too, perhaps?

Yea its a trade off between longer lenses which will allow me to get head shots from a greater distance but are bulkier or small lenses which mean I have to get amongst it. There are lenses that are a combination of the two but there tend to be trade offs in image quality.

Yea was a bit of a rough game at times.
